Lebenserwartung nach 5-FU-Therapie

"Three hundred sixty-two of 372 patients randomized (97.3%) were eligible and included in the analysis. Three hundred forty-six patients (95.6%) have died."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7677801

"Of our 457 patients, 93% have died."
http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/do ... 1&type=pdf

"Of 926 eligible patients, 756 have died."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9363861

"One hundred two patients were assessable. All patients have died."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8874327

6 Jahre (!)
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10390007
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3191651/

https://content.karger.com/Article/Pdf/214889

"In the large surgical practice of Turnbull et al five-year survivorship was increased for patients with Dukes C colonic carcinoma from 28% to 58%, this attributed simply to a modification of surgical technique...
Comparing the rate of recurrence and survival there is no evidence suggesting a treatment benefit in the curative resection group receiving 5-FU [fluorouracil]... From a preliminary analysis of our data using 5-FU as an adjuvant to the surgical treatment of colorectal cancer and a review of similar studies we conclude that a convincing case for the use of 5-FU as an adjuvant to the surgical treatment of large bowel cancer cannot be made.
If one may take the justifiable liberty of ignoring the uncontrolled 89 patient experience of Li and Ross, the evidence is overwhelming that fluorouracil and its nucleoside, floxuridine, are worthless as surgical adjuvants for colorectal cancer.
With this large mass of evidence, one can hope that the good judgment of the American physician will dissuade him from treating thousands of postoperative colon cancer patients with this toxic drug in the misinformed belief that it will provide them with therapeutic benefit."

"The drug has demonstrated carcinogenic and mutagenic properties."
Drug Therapy in Nursing

- karzinogen wirkt.

Die FDA sagt: "Most known DPYD variants associated with decreased DPD activity are reported to be of low frequency, meaning that a significant proportion of cases of severe toxicity from fluoropyrimidine-based products are unrelated to genetic factors."

Wie oft wird es eingesetzt ?

"The fluoropyrimidines, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and its prodrug capecitabine, have been the mainstay of chemotherapy in the treatment of various solid cancers for over 40 years, with approximately 2 million patients being treated worldwide each year."
(https://www.futuremedicine.com/doi/full ... /pgs.09.28)

Germany liebt 5 Feet Under:
http://www.spiegel.de/gesundheit/diagno ... 68025.html

Der Autor bezeichnet es als "lebensnotwendig"

Das sehen Knochenzellen anders:
„Two days after a single high dose of 5-FU injection, proliferation of growth plate chondrocytes and metaphyseal osteoblasts/preosteoblasts was dramatically suppressed, and apoptosis was induced among osteoblasts and preosteoblasts."
